Caitlyn Jenner Weighs in on Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet: “I Just Want Her Happy”

Caitlyn Jenner isn’t overthinking her daughter’s relationship with Timothée Chalamet. She doesn’t need to. As far as she’s concerned, the only metric that matters is whether Kylie Jenner is happy—and by her own account, she is.

Speaking briefly to reporters while departing Los Angeles International Airport on January 14, Jenner offered a measured, almost old-school take on her daughter’s three-year relationship with the Dune star. “I just want my daughter to be happy,” she said. “And she is, and I like that.”

At 76, Jenner has seen enough Hollywood romances burn hot and collapse fast. This one, she suggests, feels different. She confirmed she’s met Chalamet and described him as a “great kid” and a “phenomenal actor,” adding the line that carried the most weight: “He’s very good to Kylie.”

That approval appears to extend across the Kardashian-Jenner empire. Chalamet was quietly folded into the family’s annual holiday gingerbread display in December—a small detail, but a telling one. In that house, real estate is reserved for insiders.

Kylie and Timothée have largely kept their relationship private since first being linked three years ago, but awards season cracked the door open. At the 2026 Critics Choice Awards, Chalamet used his acceptance speech to thank Kylie directly. “I love you. I couldn’t do this without you,” he said, calling her his foundation. Kylie, seated in the crowd, mouthed back, “I love you.”

Days earlier at the Golden Globes, where Chalamet won Best Male Actor in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy, he again acknowledged her—this time calling her his “partner.” Kylie was later seen embracing his Marty Supreme co-star Odessa A’zion, telling her simply, “I’m so happy.”

For someone who built an empire in plain sight, Kylie Jenner has become increasingly protective of her private life. She shares two children—Stormi, 7, and Aire, 3—with ex Travis Scott, and has been clear about drawing firmer boundaries.

“Privacy is so important to me in life,” she told British Vogue in August 2024. “It feels so good.”

In a family where everything is usually up for public consumption, that restraint might be the most radical move of all.
