Demi Moore is going back to the fringe. Nearly three decades after Striptease, the 62-year-old actress has brought back her signature bangs — this time for Gucci’s short film The Tiger, directed by Spike Jonze.
Moore debuted the look on Instagram Monday, posting a side-by-side of her new “Gucci bangs” beside a still from her 1996 role. “Bangs — now and then,” she wrote, thanking the fashion house for letting her revisit the style that once defined an era.

The look was designed for Moore’s character, Barbara Gucci, and came together in a creative meeting between the actress, Gucci creative director Demna, Jonze, and director Halina Reijn. Hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos, who executed the transformation, called the collaboration “a full-circle moment.”
On set, Moore kept the focus on her waist-length dark hair and newly cut fringe, wearing a simple white tee and jeans — understated, confident, and completely in control.

It’s a sharp callback to her Striptease years, when the same bangs framed her turn as Erin Grant, the single mother turned stripper who became a pop-culture flashpoint. Moore shed that look soon after, famously shaving her head for G.I. Jane.
Now, after earning both a Golden Globe and an Oscar nomination for her comeback role in 2024’s The Substance, Moore’s return to bangs feels symbolic — a reminder that some icons don’t reinvent; they reclaim.
