Erika Jayne Confirms New Romance With Ex-Special Ops Bodyguard John McPhee

“He’s a nice man” says the Real Housewife, five years after last being seen with anyone

Erika Jayne isn’t hiding anymore.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star has gone public with her new relationship — or something close to it — confirming she’s seeing John “Shrek” McPhee, a retired Special Operations Sergeant Major turned Hollywood bodyguard.

“I met someone,” Jayne said on the latest episode of her Diamonds in the Rough podcast, co-hosted with Teddi Mellencamp. “We went out on two dates. Then we went to get a manicure-pedicure.”

It would’ve stayed quiet, she says, if not for the paparazzi who caught the couple hand-in-hand in Los Angeles earlier this month. “What was a nice, private moment… was ruined,” she said. “We obviously didn’t know photos were being taken.”

Still, Jayne didn’t shy away from describing the early chemistry. “It was really nice,” she said. “I feel comfortable holding this person’s hand. He’s a nice man. I haven’t been seen with anybody in five years.”

McPhee, who previously worked security for The Hills star Heidi Montag, was dressed for comfort in Crocs, cargo shorts, and a T-shirt that read Slaughter Things during their outing. Jayne kept it casual too — jeans, a white tee, and a pink baseball cap. Low profile, until it wasn’t.

The 54-year-old singer and reality TV star is still technically married to disgraced attorney Tom Girardi, who began a 7-year prison sentence for fraud earlier this month. Their divorce — filed nearly five years ago — is now tangled in procedural delays. According to Us Weekly, a recent hearing was missed by Girardi’s side, putting the entire case at risk of dismissal.

Their next court date is set for August 1. But Jayne, it seems, isn’t waiting around for closure. She’s moved on — at least for now — and into the orbit of a man built more like a bodyguard than a Beverly Hills socialite. Which might be exactly the point.
