Heidi Klum Teases Diplo Collaboration in Barely-There Video for New Track ‘Red Eye’

Heidi Klum appears determined to settle the long-running question of whether a supermodel can also be a pop act. Judging by her latest Instagram teaser, she’s not asking for permission.

The 52-year-old model and television host previewed a new track titled Red Eye in a three-second clip posted to social media, wearing little more than a white thong and an ivory fur coat. The setting was stark: abandoned train tracks, wind cutting through her hair, the camera snapping as she stood squarely in the frame.

“Red Eye – My new song with @diplo for the 21st season of Germany’s Next Topmodel,” Klum wrote. The track loops beneath the clip, minimal and percussive, serving as both soundtrack and announcement.

Styled with taupe over-the-knee boots and a glitzy thong that left little to the imagination, Klum shrugged casually and clasped her hands in front of her body, as if the outfit itself were incidental. The message, however, was clear: this is promotion by provocation, a tactic Klum has long mastered.

Red Eye marks her fourth official single. It follows 2006’s Wonderland, the Snoop Dogg-assisted Chai Tea with Heidi in 2022, and last year’s Sunglasses at Night, produced with DJ Tiësto. The latter two tracks doubled as theme songs for Germany’s Next Topmodel, blurring the line between fashion television and pop branding.

Klum has never been shy about leveraging her image in the digital age. Earlier this week, she posted a video of herself receiving a leg and glute massage, oiled and wrapped only in a bedsheet. Her recent holiday with husband Tom Kaulitz produced a steady stream of bikini shots, alongside several topless public appearances.

Even on the runway circuit, restraint is optional. In October, Klum attended the Vetements show during Paris Fashion Week in a fully transparent lace dress, reminding the industry — and her audience — that she still understands spectacle.

With Red Eye, Klum isn’t just teasing a song. She’s reinforcing a persona that has survived decades by staying unapologetically on display. Whether pop radio follows is almost beside the point.
