Jude Law’s Stepdaughter Missed Birthday Show After Hotel Security Incident with Chappell Roan

A birthday outing turned sour for Ada, 11, daughter of Jude Law, after a tense encounter with Chappell Roan’s security in São Paulo. According to her mother, Catherine Harding, the young fan was simply walking past the singer’s table to confirm her identity when a security guard confronted them. Ada hadn’t asked for a photo, didn’t approach Roan, and wasn’t carrying a phone—she just looked.

Harding said the interaction quickly escalated. The guard, whom Roan later said was not part of her personal team, allegedly berated her and told Ada to “respect people’s privacy,” even though the child had done nothing wrong. Harding emphasized that Ada is used to being around famous figures, given her stepfather’s profile, and that the incident felt like an overreach.

Despite the tense moment, Harding defended her daughter’s admiration for Roan. “I think she’s a very talented artist. I like her a lot,” Harding said. The incident, however, left Ada skipping the show she had been looking forward to as a birthday present.

Roan, who has historically tried to set firm boundaries with fans, has recently faced scrutiny for similar incidents, including an altercation with paparazzi in Paris. This latest confrontation highlights the challenges celebrities face balancing public access with personal space—but for Ada and her mother, it was a reminder of how quickly a fan moment can turn uncomfortable.
