Karol G Drops Visuals for Telenovela-Inspired Album ‘Tropicoqueta’

Karol G isn’t here to play it safe. The Colombian musician just dropped visuals for her upcoming album Tropicoqueta — a high-gloss, high-drama spectacle starring none other than Ricky Martin and Anahí.

Yes, you read that right. Two of Latin pop’s most iconic faces are front and center in a feverish soap opera-style teaser that feels more Televisa than Top 40.

The concept is pure telenovela. Think jealous lovers, heavy stares, and theatrical slaps — Karol goes head-to-head with Anahí in a fight over Ricky Martin. Then Ninel Conde and Gabriela Spanic crash the storyline, adding even more throwback star power to the chaos. It’s slick, it’s camp, and it’s intentionally over the top.

What we’re watching isn’t just promo — it’s a concept piece. A visual thesis for Tropicoqueta, which Karol describes as “intense, unpredictable, dramatic… magical, authentic, UNIQUE.”

She’s framing the album as a body-meets-soul experience, and if the aesthetics are anything to go by — big hair, bold prints, and Carmen Miranda-inspired visuals — it’s going to be a maximalist celebration of Latin identity and femininity.

The album drops June 20. The first single, “Latina Foreva,” already leans into the same larger-than-life tone, mixing reggaetón swagger with old-school glam. Online, fans are calling the video “cinematic,” “wild,” and “a full-blown telenovela revival.” Karol isn’t just releasing music. She’s building a world — and recruiting the right kind of icons to help her sell it.

Ricky Martin looks sharp, Anahí chews scenery, and Karol G holds her own. No gimmicks. Just a smart, well-staged play at pop mythology.
