The NFL is heading back to Brazil, and this time it’s bringing Karol G with it.
When the Kansas City Chiefs face the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 1 at São Paulo’s Neo Química Arena, the Colombian superstar will perform the halftime show. It marks the league’s second consecutive season in Brazil and the first-ever NFL live broadcast on YouTube.

“I’ve watched so many NFL halftime shows over the years, and now having this opportunity to bring my music to a global stage means the world to me,” Karol G said in a statement. “I can’t wait to celebrate with everyone in São Paulo and fans all around the world.”
The booking is a statement move for the NFL. Karol G—born Carolina Giraldo Navarro—has become one of Latin music’s most dominant forces. She has a Grammy, six Latin Grammys, five Billboard Music Awards, and more than 30 billion YouTube views to her name.

Her path to stardom started early. At 14, she appeared on Colombia’s version of The X Factor before uploading covers to YouTube. After nearly a decade of recording and hustling—including a stint studying at the University of Antioquia—her breakthrough came in 2017 with “Ahora Me Llama,” a collaboration with Bad Bunny that pushed her into the global spotlight.
Now, she’s set to bring that star power to the NFL’s biggest international stage. Chiefs, Chargers, and Karol G—São Paulo won’t be short on spectacle.
