Lala Kent and Ambyr Childers have reached a place few people ever do: candor without bitterness, history without hostility. On the debut episode of their new podcast Unlikely Affair, the two women connected by their past with film producer Randall Emmett laid it all out — including one confession that stopped the conversation cold.
Kent, 35, told Childers, 37, that during her pregnancy with Emmett’s child, she once fantasized about her.
The moment came as the pair discussed the strange overlap of their lives during and after Emmett’s marriage to Childers and relationship with Kent. Kent explained that once Emmett was out of the picture romantically, she stopped seeing anyone else — but was heavily pregnant and, by her own admission, operating at a heightened level of desire.
With cameras installed throughout her home at the time, Kent said the only private space she had was a closet. That’s where, she revealed, her thoughts sometimes landed on Childers. When Childers pressed her on whether she meant what it sounded like, Kent didn’t hesitate. Yes.
Rather than recoil, Childers laughed. She later admitted the story brought her genuine joy — before offering one of her own.
During the period when both women were still moving through the same house in different phases of Emmett’s life, Childers once discovered her daughters playing with Kent’s hair extensions in their shared bathroom. Knowing exactly who they belonged to, Childers said she was furious — and took them.
Whether she still has them remains unclear.
What is clear is that the relationship between Kent and Childers, once defined by betrayal and imbalance, has shifted into something unexpectedly solid. Both women referred to their bond as inevitable, even divinely ordered, a phrase Kent returned to more than once.
The friendship didn’t happen overnight. It grew slowly after Kent’s breakup with Emmett in 2021, following allegations of infidelity that he denied. Kent and Emmett share a daughter, Ocean, born in March of that year. Childers shares two daughters with him from their previous marriage.
Speaking recently, Kent described their connection plainly: Childers was the wife, Kent was the mistress. No euphemisms, no rewriting of history. Just facts.
Today, they show up for each other — and, more importantly, for their children. Kent, who welcomed a second child in 2024 via sperm donor, says the bond is rooted in shared scars and earned trust.
It’s not a neat story. It’s not a romantic one. But it’s honest — and that, more than anything, is what gives it weight.
