Lili Reinhart Joins BTS on the Open Sea in “Swim” Video

Lili Reinhart, best known for Forbidden Fruits, makes a striking cameo in BTS’s new music video for “Swim,” the lead single from their fifth studio album, Arirang. The video finds the actress stepping into the world of the K-pop juggernauts, merging her screen presence with the group’s carefully choreographed maritime aesthetic.

“Swim” is a synth-driven track that leans mellow compared to the rest of Arirang, opening with Reinhart observing a ship in a museum. The scene quickly shifts to the vessel itself, helmed by BTS members RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, each clad in crisp sailor-inspired outfits. The ship functions as more than a backdrop—it’s a metaphor for reflection, growth, and quiet resilience. Reinhart’s character navigates moments of doubt, supported by the group’s silent presence, ultimately finding the strength to move forward.

Filmed in Lisbon, the video blends practical shipboard filming with purpose-built studio sets, creating a cinematic feel. Director Tanu Muino, who previously worked on Jungkook’s solo video Standing Next to You, orchestrates the narrative with precision, letting Reinhart and the seven members anchor the story in understated emotion.

The themes of Arirang come into focus on “Swim”: perseverance, embracing life’s currents, and moving forward at one’s own pace. BTS describes the track as a mirror of life itself—a song that grows warmer with each listen and, they hope, will remain in listeners’ hearts like the folk song Arirang itself.

Reinhart joined fans online shortly after the release, posting a playful TikTok alongside BTS. The appearance arrives as BTS reunites fully after completing mandatory military service, kicking off a new chapter that includes two Netflix projects, including the live album performance BTS The Comeback Live | Arirang, streaming March 21 from Gwanghwamun in Seoul.
