Madison Beer’s first set of Victoria’s Secret wings didn’t make it to the runway. The 26-year-old singer revealed that her original pair — stunning, but weighing in at 25 pounds — were scrapped the night before her performance at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
Speaking on SiriusXM’s TikTok Radio with Davis Burleson, Beer explained how rehearsals made it clear the original wings were too heavy to handle. “They were gorgeous,” she said, “but I couldn’t perform in them. I was scared I’d hit a dancer off the platform.” The weight made it impossible to move, walk, or even strike a confident pose — a serious problem for a headlining act.
Rather than risk a mid-show disaster, the Victoria’s Secret design team worked overnight to craft a new set. “They were so lovely and made me new ones the night before,” Beer said. The replacement wings came in at just five pounds — light enough for her to perform without worry, but still striking on stage.
Asked whether she got to take them home, Beer admitted the brand kept the wings for its archive. “Now I’m forever part of the Victoria’s Secret Angel Week collection,” she said, adding that she hopes to keep her pink, crystal-embellished outfit. “I’m going to put it in a glass box and light it up in my house.”
Despite the last-minute chaos, Beer described the experience as a dream realised. “It was so surreal,” she said. “I’ve watched the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show for years. I used to think I’d be lucky just to be a background prop — to actually perform was beyond anything I imagined.”
