Megan Thee Stallion and Roc Nation won’t be escaping the lawsuit filed by a former cameraman who claims he was forced to watch the rapper have sex in a moving SUV during a European tour stop in Ibiza. A federal judge ruled this week that the case can proceed.
In an order dated July 2, U.S. District Judge Gregory H. Woods denied efforts by Megan (real name Megan Pete) and her management team to dismiss the suit brought by Emilio Garcia. The cameraman alleges he was subjected to a hostile work environment and later punished for speaking up about what he saw.

According to Garcia, the incident occurred in 2022, when Megan allegedly engaged in group sex with a woman inside a vehicle while he was filming her European tour. He claims the experience was humiliating and discriminatory, citing his sexual orientation as a key factor. Garcia, who is gay, argues that Megan would not have acted the same way in front of a heterosexual male employee.
Judge Woods agreed that Garcia had “plausibly pleaded” a discrimination case. “This is not an unreasonable inference to draw from the facts alleged,” the judge wrote, allowing the hostile work environment claim under federal law to proceed.

Garcia also claims that after raising concerns about the Ibiza encounter, his working hours and pay were cut, and he was eventually fired and “blackballed” from the industry. The judge found those retaliation allegations plausible as well.
While Megan and Roc Nation scored a partial win—getting some of Garcia’s claims tossed, including a California-based discrimination charge and a separate overtime wage claim—the core of the case remains intact.
For now, the rapper and her team are headed toward discovery, with a federal court giving this tabloid-tinged employment case a green light to move forward.
