Miley Cyrus isn’t done with Liam Hemsworth—not entirely. At least not when there’s a Sharpie and a vinyl sleeve involved.
This week, the pop star delivered what looked like a clean shot at her ex-husband while signing a fan’s copy of her new album, Something Beautiful. The fan, who just happens to be named Liam, posted a photo on X showing Cyrus’ autograph: “the Best Liam”—scrawled in black cursive.
The implication? Clear enough to stir the ashes of their public divorce. And social media ran with it.
The fan followed up with a picture alongside Cyrus at the signing, captioned: “me when I’m the best Liam.”
So far, Hemsworth hasn’t responded. His camp is silent. But if this was a jab, it landed with a grin.
Cyrus and Hemsworth’s on-again, off-again relationship stretched across more than a decade, finally culminating in a low-key wedding in December 2018. By August 2019, it was over. He filed for divorce within days, citing the standard “irreconcilable differences.” The papers were finalized by January 2020.
Since then, Cyrus has rarely spoken directly about the marriage, though she hasn’t exactly kept it sacred either. At Lollapalooza 2022, she told a newly engaged couple, “Honey, I hope your marriage goes better than mine. Mine was a fucking disaster.”
Not subtle. But neither is heartbreak in the rearview.
These days, Cyrus is with Maxx Morando, drummer for Liily. Hemsworth, meanwhile, has been dating model Gabriella Brooks since 2019. The two made their red carpet debut in 2022, playing it cool at the premiere of his film Poker Face.
But if Miley’s vinyl note is any indication, some stories don’t stay boxed up in storage. Some come back, sharp-tipped, signed, and shared with the world.
