Millie Bobby Brown Celebrates 22nd Birthday as Marie Antoinette in SoHo

Millie Bobby Brown’s 22nd birthday was less a dinner, more a miniature French court. On Feb. 20, the Stranger Things alum transformed Maison Close in SoHo into her own Versailles, donning a pale pink jacquard corset with puffed cap sleeves, ruffled trim, and teardrop pearls.

She paired the corset with pearl-studded side panniers, ruffled bloomers, and sheer thigh-high stockings, finishing the look with a layered pearl choker and matching drop earrings. A towering white wig, decorated with pearls, purple ribbons, and pink feathers, completed the period-perfect ensemble.

Her husband, Jake Bongiovi, matched the 18th-century aesthetic in a dark jacquard jacket and frilled-collar shirt. The couple posed in front of a multi-tiered cake topped with sparklers, surrounded by friends in period costume. Guests included Stranger Things director Shawn Levy, castmate Jamie Campbell Bower, reality stars Whitney and Conner Leavitt, and Brown’s family. David Harbour was the only other Stranger Things cast member present.

Brown’s beauty brand, Florence by Mills, shared footage calling her “the flo queen of our hearts” and highlighting her “22 era.” Brown herself posted an Instagram dump captioned “I don’t know about u,” a nod to Taylor Swift’s birthday anthem “22.”

Not everyone was sold on the theme. Some fans questioned the Marie Antoinette reference, noting the historical queen’s reputation for lavish excess. Others defended the choice as playful and in keeping with the evening’s costume approach.

In any case, Brown’s birthday was unmistakably her own: lavish, meticulously styled, and unapologetically theatrical.
