New York Fashion Week has its latest headline act: Kai Schreiber. The 16-year-old daughter of Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber opened Jason Wu’s Spring 2026 ready-to-wear show, cementing her place in the growing wave of nepo babies taking over the runways.
Schreiber made her debut in March on Alessandro Michele’s Valentino catwalk in Paris. On Tuesday, she returned with confidence, leading Wu’s show in a white bralet with silver clasps and a matching skirt. Svelte and unsmiling, she looked more like a veteran than a newcomer.

Wu’s collection leaned on lingerie embroidery, undone hems, and crisp Oxford shirting, but Schreiber’s presence was the story. She’s been upfront about her ambitions. In Interview magazine this summer, she didn’t mince words: “I want to be a supermodel. Period. I’ve been practicing my walks in the kitchen for years; my mom can show you all the videos I forced her to film.”
The practice is paying off. With Valentino and Jason Wu already on her résumé, and with front-row support from her famous family, Kai Schreiber isn’t just a nepo baby filling a slot—she’s making a case for her own star power.
