Raegan Revord Comes Out as Nonbinary

Raegan Revord, best known for playing Missy Cooper on television show Young Sheldon, has come out as nonbinary.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, the 17-year-old actor spoke about stepping into their identity and the impact of representation. “Growing up, whenever I would see a celebrity come out as nonbinary or queer, I was like, ‘Oh my god, this is so cool, I see myself in you,’” Revord said. “It’s crazy to now be that person for someone else.”

Revord also connected the announcement to their work as a writer. Their debut novel, Rules of Fake Girlfriends, released September 2, tells a queer love story about a college student pulled into a fake dating scheme. “A lot of people will doubt you because of your age, and a lot of people won’t take you seriously,” Revord told People. “But if you love the story you’re telling, that’s enough.”

Away from the page and screen, Revord revealed another alter ego earlier this year. For two years, they had been streaming anonymously on Twitch under the name Setting_Sunset before revealing their identity in January with a TikTok post captioned, “A new era.”

From network sitcoms to novels to late-night streaming, Revord is carving out a career on their own terms—and now, living openly as themselves.
