On Thursday’s episode of her Show Me Something podcast, Cunningham explained that a cold sore flared up after she borrowed someone’s ChapStick at her own basketball showcase, the Sophie Cunningham Classic.
“I’m telling you I used someone’s ChapStick and I got a herpe. I have herpes,” she joked—then clarified firmly that she does not have herpes. Dry lips, changing climates, and sharing ChapStick: the perfect storm.
The episode didn’t stop at lips. Cunningham also appeared with a white toothpaste streak across her hoodie. “I realized that sounds so bad, but I promise you when I went to spit out my toothpaste, this dipped in the water,” she said, laughing off the accidental stain.
Sophie’s honesty doesn’t end there. She revealed she once slid into Joey Chestnut’s DMs to tell him he was her childhood hero. “He followed me a couple months back… I might have been out with friends and drinking and I literally DM’d him. I said, ‘You were my childhood hero,’” she shared.
