Ore Oduba, the former Strictly Come Dancing champion, has revealed he’s seeking professional help for a pornography addiction that began when he was just nine years old. The broadcaster opened up about his struggle on Paul C. Brunson’s We Need To Talk podcast, calling the admission both “terrifying” and necessary.
The confession hit social media when a clip from the podcast was posted on Instagram. What followed was a wave of support from fans and fellow Strictly stars alike. Vicky Pattison commented, “I love you, Ore. Well done, babe.” Amber Davies added, “I am so proud of you.” Oduba responded to the flood of kindness with gratitude: “I’m already on the edge of tears with you all and your kindness… thank you for such love. I really hope this conversation can make a difference.”

Oduba said his addiction began when a friend’s older brother showed him explicit material as a child. “I wasn’t addicted straight away,” he admitted. “But it was easy to find more. I was curious, ashamed, and silent.” That silence lasted decades.
Now a father of two, Oduba says his decision to speak publicly is about protecting the next generation. “This is me putting my life on the line to save my children—and to guide anybody else’s. Kids today can fall into something they never asked to,” he said.
For Oduba, coming forward marks a turning point. “I’m terrified,” he confessed. “Because for me, the rest of my life begins the day after this. It’s a draw-the-line moment.”
Oduba’s admission lands at a time when the conversation around online pornography and its accessibility to children has reached a breaking point. His story—part confession, part warning—offers a rare look at the hidden costs of a digital age where desire and danger sit only a click apart.
