Tara Reid, best known for her role in American Pie, says she was drugged while staying at a hotel in Rosemont. In an interview with TMZ, the actress said she stepped outside for a cigarette after ordering a drink at the hotel bar. When she returned, the glass was covered with a napkin. She drank it anyway.
Reid says she was unconscious for eight hours.
The actress is now urging people to watch their drinks and not leave them unattended—advice she says she learned the hard way.
Rosemont police confirmed they received a call for a “sick person” at the time but have not verified that any drugging occurred. ABC7 contacted the DoubleTree hotel for comment, though the property did not respond.
For Reid, the incident adds another uneasy chapter to a career long lived in the spotlight—this time, with a reminder of how quickly an ordinary night out can turn.
