TikTok Chef Tini Younger Pushes Back on Claims Her Viral Mac and Cheese Recipe Was Stolen

Tineke “Tini” Younger has little patience for internet mythology—and even less for people inventing it at her expense.

Days after sharing a rare update on her family’s grief following the death of one of her newborn twin daughters, the 24-year-old TikTok chef addressed a wave of online speculation claiming her viral mac and cheese recipe wasn’t hers to begin with. According to the theory making the rounds, the dish was lifted from her husband Antoine Wright Jr.’s family. Younger says that’s nonsense.

“It’s literally mac and cheese,” she said in a January 3 Instagram Stories post. “But that recipe is mine.”

Younger pushed back directly on claims that she profited from a family recipe passed down through her in-laws, stating she was the one doing the teaching—not the other way around. She noted that there’s documented proof of her instructing her husband’s family on how to make the dish.

“Antoine’s mom did not teach me how to make it,” she said. “I have a video teaching my in-laws how to make my recipe. People would rather believe a third party than the actual person.”

The frustration runs deeper than culinary credit. Younger also criticized content creators who have folded her recent personal tragedy into what she called “mac and cheese drama,” accusing them of spreading misinformation for views while she continues to mourn her daughter Arya, who died shortly after birth in November following a placenta abruption.

“I’m glad mac and cheese is your problem,” she said. “I wish it was mine.”

Her comments came a day after she shared an update on Instagram about her surviving daughter, referred to as L, reassuring followers that the baby is healthy as the family grieves.

“She’s doing good,” Younger wrote. “We remind her every day about Arya.”

Younger also confirmed she remains on hiatus from social media as she recovers physically and emotionally from postpartum complications.

“I’m not sure when I’ll be back,” she wrote. “Thank you to everyone who sends love.”

For now, the recipe stands—and so does its author.
