Khloé Kardashian Rules Out Having Children With a Future Partner After Tristan Thompson Drama

Khloé Kardashian isn’t closing the door on finding love again, but having children with a new partner is another matter. The reality star, 42, opened up about dating, motherhood and the complications of blending families in the October 15 episode of The Kardashians, telling Kris Jenner that she wants to protect the household she has built with her two children.

“When you have a baby, it’s forever. So, choose wisely, people,” Khloé said, reflecting on relationships that have left their mark. She explained that past experiences had changed how she approached romance, adding that her ideal future could involve a partner without having more children together.

Khloé shares daughter True and son Tatum with her former partner, NBA player Tristan Thompson, 35. The pair dated on and off from 2016 to 2021, with their relationship ending amid multiple cheating scandals. The experience has clearly influenced how Khloé thinks about bringing another person into her family.

“I don’t want me and my husband to have kids, and then my kids feel like, ‘Oh, we’re not as important because their daddy lives in this house,’” she explained. For Khloé, keeping her children secure and avoiding unnecessary disruption takes priority over the traditional idea of starting a new family with a future husband.

That doesn’t mean the possibility of another baby is entirely off the table. Khloé revealed that she retains legal ownership of an embryo created with Tristan, after he signed the necessary paperwork following their breakup. She has considered using a surrogate, although she admitted she isn’t sure she has the capacity to raise another child. She would particularly love to have another daughter, but recognises that age and the demands of motherhood are factors.

Despite their romantic history, Khloé and Tristan have maintained a workable relationship as co-parents. In a 2023 episode of The Kardashians, she explained that she had no interest in punishing him for the past, provided boundaries remained in place and their children came first.

For Khloé, moving forward doesn’t necessarily mean starting over. A new relationship may be possible, but she appears determined to protect the family dynamic she already has.
