Reality TV figure Lindsie Chrisley is speaking publicly after her weekend arrest in Georgia on DUI-related charges, insisting the incident unfolded differently from how it appears in official records.
Chrisley, 36, was booked on Saturday (May 23) in Cherokee County on multiple charges, including DUI less safe, reckless driving, speeding, improper passing, and attempting to elude police, according to police records obtained by People. She was released on bond early Sunday after posting $1,355 for the DUI charge, alongside additional amounts tied to the other allegations.
Under Georgia law, “DUI less safe” allows for conviction even when a driver’s blood alcohol level is below the legal threshold of 0.08.
Following her release, Chrisley addressed the situation directly, telling TMZ she intends to fight the charges and offering a different account of what happened on the road. She said the incident stemmed from an attempt to avoid a potential collision on a two-lane highway.
“I got pulled over speeding past a car on a two lane road because they almost hit an animal,” she said, adding that she swerved to avoid impact with both the vehicle and whatever was in the roadway.
Chrisley, the daughter of Todd Chrisley, rose to public attention through the reality series Chrisley Knows Best, which chronicled her family’s lifestyle and internal conflicts. Her relationship with her father has remained strained following his conviction — alongside Julie Chrisley — for bank and tax fraud in 2022. Both were later released from prison in May 2025 after receiving a pardon from President Donald Trump.
The arrest also lands amid a turbulent personal period. Her former boyfriend, David Landsman, was recently arrested in a separate case involving charges of misdemeanor battery and felony aggravated assault. The two have since exchanged mutual restraining orders and agreed to a no-contact arrangement requiring them to stay 500 yards apart.
Chrisley has said she is preparing to contest the DUI allegations in court as the case moves forward.
