Madonna delivered plenty of spectacle during the FIFA World Cup 2026 halftime show, stepping onto the MetLife Stadium pitch in a head-to-toe crystal-covered look that matched the scale of the occasion.
Opening the show with a high-energy performance of her 2000 hit Music, blended with elements of Disco Inferno and Danceteria, the Queen of Pop arrived in unforgettable fashion. She was driven onto the field in a dune buggy by Brazilian football legends Ronaldo and Ronaldinho before taking centre stage surrounded by roller skaters.
Her outfit leaned heavily into sport-meets-pop glamour. Madonna layered a shimmering Diesel lurex zip-up top beneath a custom Saint Laurent ensemble that featured a varsity jacket embroidered with her name, a buckled corset, silky hot pants, fishnet tights, lavender thigh-high stockings and towering lace-up boots. The pink and purple colour palette nodded to her upcoming Confessions II era.
The look was elevated with an array of Swarovski jewellery selected by stylist Rita Melssen. Among the standout pieces were a bold fuchsia Millenia necklace, a crystal-covered referee’s whistle bearing Madonna’s signature “M”, and custom crystal hoop earrings designed especially for the performance.
“Millenia stands for bold self-expression, making it a powerful match for Madonna,” Swarovski Global Creative Director Giovanna Engelbert said in a statement. “It was an honour to collaborate with her and her team on these custom Swarovski pieces.”
The sparkle didn’t stop there. Madonna also wore bespoke fingerless goalkeeper gloves by Le Rhinestud, each completely covered in crystals to tie into the football-inspired theme.
Her beauty look was equally polished. Makeup artist Marcelo Gutierrez used Kiko Milano products to create soft mauve and lilac eye makeup, paired with a rosy lip and glowing complexion. Tiny crystals placed at the inner and outer corners of her eyes added even more shimmer beneath her oversized Dior shield sunglasses.
More than four decades into her career, Madonna continues to treat every major performance like a fashion event in its own right. The FIFA World Cup halftime show was no exception, blending high fashion, sport and pop spectacle into another headline-grabbing moment.
