Manchester United fans have found an unexpected reason to reconsider their calls for Michael Carrick to be sacked, with adult star and Red Devils supporter Skylar Skye promising to post revealing pictures every day until the manager loses his job.
Skye, who has around 172,000 followers on X, launched the campaign with a photograph of herself holding up a Manchester United home shirt. Her caption left little room for confusion: “Day 1 of posting my boobs every day until Michael Carrick is sacked by Manchester United.”
She followed through with further posts on Thursday and Friday, although Saturday passed without another instalment. The campaign has nevertheless given United supporters an alternative talking point amid the growing scrutiny surrounding Carrick and his future at Old Trafford.
Some fans have responded by suggesting the club should hold off on making a managerial change. “I hope he never gets sacked,” one follower wrote, while another joked that United should retain him for as long as possible. One particularly enthusiastic supporter summed up the mood with the words: “Long live Carrick! This is the true silver lining!”
Others were less convinced by the football but happy to entertain the joke. “Carrick in…I mean definitely out but at least this will make it bearable!” one fan commented, capturing the strange alliance between managerial uncertainty and social media mischief.
The attention comes as United prepare to face Bournemouth, with Carrick under pressure and Bruno Fernandes reportedly dropped for the fixture. Skye made her own feelings clear ahead of the match, posting a selfie alongside a message that suggested the result mattered considerably to her: “If we don’t beat Bournemouth today, I’m genuinely going to lose my mind 😭.”
For now, Skye’s pledge has added an unusual subplot to the conversation around Manchester United. Whether Carrick stays or goes will ultimately depend on footballing decisions rather than online campaigns, but the manager has acquired at least one group of supporters with a very particular reason to hope his tenure continues.
