Abella Danger isn’t buying the idea that OnlyFans has replaced traditional adult films. The veteran performer believes there’s still a clear divide between creator content and professional studio productions, comparing mainstream adult movies to the “major leagues” while branding OnlyFans the industry’s “minor league.”
Speaking on the June 17 episode of KFC Radio, the 29-year-old reflected on how the business has changed since creator platforms exploded in popularity. While she acknowledged that OnlyFans has given performers greater independence and control over their careers, she argued that studio productions still demand a higher level of professionalism, experience and performance.
Danger also weighed in on the viral stunts that have dominated headlines in recent months, including the widely publicised claims made by OnlyFans creators Lily Phillips and Bonnie Blue. While both generated huge attention online, Danger said those headline-grabbing challenges did little to impress her, describing them as more of a spectacle than entertainment.
“I still feel like shooting for OnlyFans is so minor league compared to the major leagues that is shooting a scene,” she said, adding that independent content can be filmed in minutes without the structure or expectations of a professional set. She later called the increasingly extreme challenges a “circus act,” saying they prioritise publicity over performance.
For Danger, the biggest difference comes down to the performers themselves. She argued that mainstream productions feature experienced professionals working at the highest level, creating an environment that demands consistency, chemistry and technical skill in front of the camera.
OnlyFans has undoubtedly changed the economics of the adult industry, allowing creators to build audiences without relying on studios. But if Danger’s assessment is anything to go by, she believes the old hierarchy still exists. Creator platforms may dominate the conversation, but in her eyes, the biggest stage remains the traditional studio system.
