Kelly Osbourne has revealed she has gained two stone since the BRIT Awards in February, offering a candid update on her health and appearance following months of public scrutiny over her dramatic weight loss.
The 41-year-old television personality and singer addressed the change in a new interview with The Sun, describing the past year as the worst of her life while reflecting on the death of her father, Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne, in July 2025.
“It’s been the worst year of my life,” Kelly said. “In so many ways, I can’t even explain to you. But it’s also been really beautiful because I’ve learned that my grief is an honour, as I truly love someone that much.”
She then disclosed the extent of her recent weight gain, saying, “Do you know that I’ve gained 2st since the BRITs?” The figure equates to 28 pounds, or approximately 12.7 kilograms. Kelly admitted she had been taken aback by photographs of herself that attracted attention, saying she had not realised how she looked until she saw the images.

“I didn’t know that I looked like that until I saw the pictures,” she explained. “When I saw them, I couldn’t f***ing believe it. I was as shocked as everyone else.”
Kelly also addressed speculation about the reasons behind her earlier weight loss, insisting it was not the result of an eating disorder. “I just couldn’t do anything for myself,” she said, adding that eating made her feel as though she wanted to throw up.
Her appearance became a subject of public discussion last year and again when she attended events surrounding the 2026 Grammy Awards and BRIT Awards in February. Following her father’s death, Kelly had already taken to Instagram Stories to push back against comments about her increasingly slender frame, explaining that she was struggling to cope with a life that had been turned upside down.
“You say that I look ill. Well, I am ill right now,” she said at the time. “I don’t understand how people expect me to bounce back and look like everything is just fine in my life when it’s not.”

Ozzy died in July 2025 following an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, with coronary artery disease and Parkinson’s disease with autonomic dysfunction also listed among the causes of death. His passing marked a devastating loss for Kelly, who has spoken openly about the difficulty of navigating life without him.
In August 2026, she offered a more hopeful update, saying she was “getting a lot better” and had access to the support she needed. She also stressed that recovery would take time, describing it as an ongoing process rather than something that could be resolved overnight.
“You’ve got to fix the head before you can fix the body,” she said. “It’s a lifetime of work I’ve got to do and continue to do for the rest of my life.”
Kelly’s latest comments make clear that her focus is on dealing with grief and rebuilding her wellbeing, rather than meeting public expectations about how she should look. After a year marked by personal loss and relentless attention to her appearance, she’s asking for something considerably more reasonable: time to heal.
