Yanet García Backed Mexico as England Edged El Tri 3-2 in World Cup Thriller

Yanet García once again proved she’s one of Mexico’s most devoted World Cup supporters, marking El Tri’s last-16 meeting with England by sharing a bold tribute with her millions of followers.

The television personality turned fitness entrepreneur posted a striking photo of herself posing nude behind a traditional sombrero, captioning it simply: “LET’S GO MEXICO!!!!!!”

The post quickly racked up thousands of reactions, with fans filling the comments in support of Mexico before kick-off. Others were just as focused on García herself, who has built one of the largest social media audiences of any Mexican media personality, with more than 13 million Instagram followers.

Long before becoming an online sensation, García was best known as a weather presenter on Televisa Monterrey, where she worked from 2013 until 2019. After leaving television, she moved to the United States, became a certified personal trainer and expanded her brand through FitPlan, while also launching premium content for her growing fanbase.

Her career has also stretched into acting, with appearances in Sharknado 5: Global Swarming and the Spanish comedy Bellezonismo.

Football fans may also remember García’s memorable moment during the 2018 World Cup, when she took part in one of the tournament’s strangest good-luck rituals. After finishing a live weather report, she allowed colleagues to kick her on air in the belief it would bring Mexico fortune during the competition. The clip quickly went viral and remains one of the more unusual World Cup moments in recent memory.

England eventually booked their place in the quarter-finals with a dramatic 3-2 victory over Mexico after surviving much of the second half with ten men, bringing El Tri’s World Cup run to an end.

Although the result didn’t go Mexico’s way, García remained one of the team’s most recognisable supporters throughout the tournament. Whether posting from the gym, the beach or behind a carefully placed sombrero, she once again showed why she’s become one of football’s favourite superfans.
