Angel Reese Rejects TikTok Star’s Marriage Proposal at WNBA Finals

Angel Reese has made her feelings clear after a TikTok influencer tried to win her over with a marriage proposal during the WNBA Finals. Content creator Tiki, who boasts more than 479,000 followers on TikTok, turned up to Game 3 between the Atlanta Dream and Golden State Valkyries dressed in a tuxedo, armed with a sign asking the basketball star to marry him.

As Reese stepped up to the free-throw line, Tiki shouted, “Angel, I love you.” His sign left little room for interpretation: “Angel will you marry me?” It was a bold attempt to get the attention of one of basketball’s most recognisable young stars, but the response was not what he had hoped for.

Reese took to the comments section of his video with a firm rejection, writing, “Not in this lifetime, but I have some fine friendsssss.” The message was playful enough, but the answer was unmistakable. Tiki had made his move; Reese had other plans.

Away from the courtside romance attempt, Reese and the Dream were fighting to stay competitive in a closely contested series against Golden State. Atlanta had already secured a road win, while the teams traded blows over Games 3 and 4. Golden State took Saturday’s game 67–62, levelling the series at two wins apiece.

Reese had delivered a standout performance in Game 2, recording 30 points and 16 rebounds to help Atlanta secure the victory. Game 4 proved considerably tougher, however, as she made just two of 12 shots from the field, finishing with eight points and nine rebounds.

The series now heads into a decisive Game 5 in California on Monday night. Reese will have bigger business to attend to than a TikTok proposal, with Atlanta’s season on the line and the spotlight firmly on the court.
