Josh Allen is heading into his ninth NFL season with a new title alongside quarterback: dad.
As the Buffalo Bills prepare to open training camp at St. John Fisher University, Allen and wife Hailee Steinfeld are making the most of a quieter summer with their newborn daughter, Harper Haize Allen.
The couple announced Harper’s arrival in early April, although they have chosen not to reveal her exact birth date. Speaking recently, Allen credited Steinfeld with helping him navigate life as a first-time father while balancing the demands of an NFL career.
“To have a supportive partner, which I do, that allows me to go and work out,” Allen said, adding that Steinfeld has helped him “find that balance” between football and family life.
Before the intensity of training camp begins, the reigning NFL MVP said he’s simply trying to “ride the wave right now and enjoy” spending time at home.
Steinfeld also offered fans a glimpse into their off-season routine in the latest edition of her Beau Society newsletter. Reflecting on her favourite moments of the summer, she revealed the couple recently enjoyed a relaxed day playing pickleball with close friends Greer Gustavson and her husband, music producer Demitri Lerios.
“My moment of gratitude this week was getting to play pickleball with Greer and our husbands. Just taking time to connect outside in nature filled my cup!”
The two couples have remained close since Allen and Steinfeld began dating in 2023, with Gustavson recently joking during a Beau Society live Q&A that Allen has a habit of laughing at the worst possible moments.
Steinfeld didn’t disagree.
“Honestly, if it’s not me or you, it’s Josh.”
Life at home is also revolving around baby Harper, with Steinfeld admitting she’s enjoying dressing her daughter in stylish outfits, including a £98 romper featuring a Peter Pan collar. With Allen signing a six-year, $330 million extension with the Bills earlier this year, it’s safe to say Harper won’t be short of wardrobe options.
When the baby is asleep, the couple have been unwinding with episodes of Netflix’s Beef and the golf comedy The Hawk, which Steinfeld described as “classic Will Ferrell”—while adding that it’s “very much not kid-friendly.”
With training camp just around the corner, Allen’s focus will soon return to football. For now, though, family life appears to be taking centre stage.
