Two familiar Hollyoaks faces are back together, only this time they have traded Chester for a new OnlyFans reality competition.
Sarah Jayne Dunn and James Sutton, who played Mandy Richardson and John Paul McQueen respectively on the Channel 4 soap, are reuniting for Race of Wits, an eight-part competition series launching on OFTV on August 25.
The show, produced for the streaming platform founded by OnlyFans, puts pairs of creators through three fast-paced challenges across London. The prize is cash, but there is also the small matter of bragging rights, with each team attempting to outsmart its rivals.
Dunn and Sutton will be competing alongside a cast that includes Skins star Megan Prescott and former Love Island runner-up Hannah Elizabeth.
For Sutton, the reunion was an opportunity to step away from the soap roles that made him familiar to television audiences.
“Reuniting with Sarah brought back amazing memories. It was like we’d never been apart,” he said.
“Most people will know me for the characters I played in soaps and dramas, so taking part in Race of Wits was a great opportunity to have a bit of fun and show a different side of myself.”
Sutton left Hollyoaks earlier this year before joining OnlyFans, following in the footsteps of his former co-star. Dunn, meanwhile, was written out of the soap in 2021 after Channel 4 announced her departure amid her involvement with the subscription platform.
The move to OnlyFans has proved lucrative for Sutton. According to reports published by The Sun in May, he had amassed thousands of subscribers paying £12 for access to his content, with additional premium material available.
The publication also reported that Sutton had climbed into the platform’s top one per cent of creators and was on course to potentially earn £1 million within months if his momentum continued.
Now he is adding reality television to the mix, with Sutton and Dunn heading back into competition together for a show that has little to do with the soap world that first brought them together.
Race of Wits launches on OFTV on August 25.
