Madonna Turns 68 in Sequined Dolce & Gabbana Couture and a Flower Crown

Madonna has never been one for a quiet birthday, and turning 68 was no exception.

The Queen of Pop celebrated her latest trip around the sun in Corfu, Greece, surrounded by family and friends and dressed in an extravagant Dolce & Gabbana couture gown covered in sequins, crystals and satin flowers.

The Baroque-inspired look had only recently appeared on the runway at Dolce & Gabbana’s Alta Moda Taormina show. Madonna added her own finishing touch with a headpiece topped by oversized fuchsia roses, along with glittering gold pumps and stacked brass bangles from Dinosaur Designs.

Around her neck was a particularly serious piece of jewellery: a floral necklace from Dolce & Gabbana’s Alta Gioielleria collection featuring tanzanite, morganite, aquamarine, rhodolite garnet and a South Sea pearl.

Birthday cakes and Greek island celebrations followed. Madonna shared photographs from the party on Instagram, including a shot of herself blowing out the candles on a heart-shaped cake decorated with a giant evil-eye motif. She also posed with five of her six children.

“It’s My Birthday! Eat, Pray, Love, Drink, Dance, Break plates, Feed Cats!!” she wrote, before thanking God and adding a Greek flag and heart emoji.

The birthday arrived with another reason to celebrate. MTV announced the same day that Madonna leads the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards nominations with 11 nods, her highest total for the awards, including a Video of the Year nomination for “Confessions II — The Film.”

The 14-minute film was released in June ahead of her latest album, Confessions II, which went straight to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in July.

Dolce & Gabbana also supplied the wardrobe for the film’s “Danceteria” sequence, dressing Madonna in a figure-hugging baby-blue look inspired by a silhouette from the Italian house’s Spring 1998 collection.

Her birthday wardrobe did not stop there. Later in the evening, Madonna changed into a white lace dress, piling on necklaces, including her familiar cross pendants, and a collection of colourful bracelets.

Friends and family followed the all-white dress code, with Madonna’s 30-year-old boyfriend Akeem Morris among the guests. The party also drew birthday messages from friends including Selma Blair, Pabllo Vittar and Debi Mazar, while Kelly Ripa delivered her own greeting in Greek.

At 68, Madonna is still doing what Madonna has always done best: making an entrance, changing the outfit and keeping everyone watching.
