Paris is a city built for romance, expensive clothes and people pretending they aren’t watching you. Jacob Elordi and Kendall Jenner got the full experience on Monday night.
The couple were heading back to their hotel after a night out when photographers began following them down the street, firing off flashes as they went. There was no shortage of attention. There was also, apparently, a shortage of patience.
Elordi eventually turned around and asked them to stop.
“Wait, wait, wait, can we just walk home? Stop, stop, stop,” the actor said.
Then he made the request even simpler.
“Can we just walk home back to our hotel? No flash, just let us walk. Just let us go.”
Jenner shielded her eyes as the cameras continued firing. The photographers kept pace with the couple before they eventually crossed the street and continued toward the hotel.
It wasn’t exactly a Hollywood meltdown. No shouting match, no security detail dragging anyone into a waiting SUV. Just Elordi asking for a few uninterrupted minutes to walk down a Paris street with his girlfriend without being blasted in the face by camera flashes.
The interest in the pair has been building for months. Jenner and Elordi were first linked after reportedly being seen together at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party in March. They surfaced again at Coachella in April, and since then the two have been spotted together everywhere from Hawaii and Montecito to Japan.
Now they’re in Paris, where apparently even a quiet walk home comes with a press corps.
That’s the deal when you’re Kendall Jenner and Jacob Elordi. Privacy is apparently something you have to negotiate, one flashbulb at a time.
