Lala Kent claims split DMs from Mauricio Umansky — he fires back: “She’s a f—king liar”

Lala Kent has found herself at the centre of a public back-and-forth with Mauricio Umansky after claiming he slid into her DMs and asked her out for coffee amid his separation from Kyle Richards.

Speaking during a recent episode of her Untraditionally Lala podcast, Kent said Umansky reached out after she discussed his marriage breakdown on her former show Give Them Lala. She suggested the message was an attempt at damage control and said she never opened it, adding there was “not a chance” of a meet-up.

Umansky, however, dismissed the claims in blunt terms.

“Oh man, she’s such a f—king liar it’s not even funny, dude,” he told TMZ outside Craig’s in Los Angeles.

He said he considered posting screenshots of the exchange but instead chose to respond publicly, insisting Kent’s version left out key context.

“I did message her because she was talking s—t, and I said, ‘Hey, you wanna talk s—t about me, I’ll f—king talk to you,’” he said.

According to Umansky, the message was not an invitation out of the blue, but a response to comments he felt misrepresented him.

“She said in the podcast that she never opened the text,” he added. “The last word on my text — and it’s a long text — says, ‘Let’s have coffee.’”

He argued that Kent’s framing of the message as an invitation was misleading, claiming she would only know the full content if she had opened it.

The dispute escalated further when a screenshot of the alleged message was obtained and published, appearing to show Umansky suggesting a conversation over phone or coffee after referencing speculation about his personal life.

Umansky and Richards announced their separation in July 2023 after 27 years of marriage. The pair, who share four daughters, have maintained that there was no wrongdoing involved and have asked for privacy as they navigate the split.

Despite periodic rumours of reconciliation, sources have suggested the former couple remain separated but on amicable terms.
