Nikki Bella has offered an unusually candid update on her dating life, and for now there isn’t much of one. The WWE star says she remains “super celibate”, nearly two years after separating from her former husband, Artem Chigvintsev.
Speaking to Us Weekly, Bella joked that she is “pretty much like a nun at this point”, adding that she sometimes wishes she had the energy to go out and meet people but simply isn’t interested in making dating a priority.
“I wish I was out there getting wild. I just don’t have energy for it,” she said.
Her sister, Brie Bella, has apparently been attempting to change that. Brie told the publication that she has tried introducing Nikki to potential dates, although her efforts have yet to produce much. According to Brie, there have been “some” possibilities, but Nikki isn’t exactly rushing towards them.
Much of her attention is currently focused on her six-year-old son, Matteo, whom she shares with Chigvintsev, as well as work. The sisters host The Nikki & Brie Show together and are also behind their wine company, Bonita Bonita.
Brie explained that Matteo is Nikki’s “world right now”, while Nikki herself appears to prefer the simplest possible social plans when she does have time away from work and parenting.
“If she has a free night, she wants to Netflix and chill,” Brie said. “She’s like, ‘I don’t want to go on a date. I don’t have to dress up.’”
Bella married professional dancer Chigvintsev in 2022 before filing for divorce in 2024. Chigvintsev was arrested for alleged domestic violence that year, although prosecutors later dropped the charges. He denied wrongdoing, while his attorney said he had contacted police seeking protection from what he described as aggression from his wife.
Bella later described the separation as difficult but said in December 2024 that the pair were doing well as co-parents and hoped eventually to reach a point where they could share holidays.
There was also brief speculation last year that Bella was involved with Philadelphia Eagles player Cooper DeJean after the pair were seen together following a game. Bella later appeared to dismiss the dating rumours on her podcast, joking that she hadn’t been romantically involved with anyone for a considerable time.
For now, it seems Bella is perfectly comfortable keeping things quiet. Her sister may have other plans, but Nikki isn’t exactly searching for a date night.
