OnlyFans Model Courtney Clenney Reaches Plea Deal Ahead of Murder Trial

OnlyFans model Courtney Clenney has reached a plea agreement in the 2022 killing of her boyfriend, Christian Obumseli, just weeks before she was due to face trial for second-degree murder.

Clenney, 30, was arrested after Obumseli, 27, was found with a stab wound at the Miami apartment they shared. Police were called to the property after Clenney made a 911 call and found her covered in blood. Obumseli was taken to hospital with a wound reportedly around three inches deep and was later pronounced dead.

Clenney has maintained that she acted in self-defence, telling investigators that she threw a knife at Obumseli after he allegedly pushed her to the ground and attempted to choke her. Prosecutors have disputed that account, describing the couple’s relationship as “tempestuous and combative” during earlier court proceedings.

The terms of the new plea agreement have not yet been made public. They are expected to be presented in Miami-Dade County court on August 10. Clenney’s attorney said the defence would not comment on the specific terms until they had been formally placed on the record.

The case has attracted considerable attention since Obumseli’s death, with both sides presenting sharply different accounts of the relationship. Prosecutors have pointed to reports of repeated arguments between the couple, while Clenney’s defence has accused Obumseli of domestic violence. Obumseli’s family, meanwhile, has maintained that Clenney was the aggressor.

Friends and neighbours also described a troubled relationship. Ashley Vaughn, who knew the couple, told an ABC affiliate that she had seen Clenney hit Obumseli but said she had never witnessed him hit her. Neighbours reportedly told police that arguments between the pair had previously required officers to attend their building.

Clenney’s public profile added another layer to the case. The former social media personality and OnlyFans creator had appeared on the We In Miami podcast shortly before the killing, where she discussed her dating preferences and joked with other guests. Hours before her arrest, she also appeared on an Instagram livestream discussing her plans for the next five years.

Clenney has remained in custody in Miami while awaiting trial. With the plea agreement now reached, the next stage of the case will depend on the terms presented to the court later this month.
