Drea de Matteo has made no secret of the fact that OnlyFans has changed her financial situation — and now the Sopranos star appears to be hinting that her earnings from the platform have passed the million-dollar mark.
The 54-year-old actress joined OnlyFans in 2023, turning to the subscription platform during a serious financial crisis. At the time, de Matteo said her home was facing foreclosure and that she needed $75,000 to deal with the immediate situation.
She raised that amount in just 75 minutes.
What started as a way to keep a roof over her head has since become a major part of her career. Speaking exclusively to The Sun, de Matteo said creating content has given her a level of financial and professional freedom that traditional acting work does not.
“It’s really fantastic money and I only work when I want to now,” she said.
De Matteo also explained why she has no immediate plans to walk away from OnlyFans, despite having spent decades working in television and film.
“As far as acting goes, it’s been difficult for me to be in that world because you’re not really free in a lot of ways. OnlyFans buys you certain freedom so I think I will stay [on the platform].”
The actress was then asked whether she had reached the $1 million mark through OnlyFans. Her response was hardly a denial.
Rather than give a straight figure, de Matteo smiled, shrugged and laughed before saying: “I mean, you know… that’s the way the Italians answer that question.”
It is a coy answer, but after the actress previously spoke openly about the financial pressures that pushed her onto the platform, the suggestion that OnlyFans has become a seven-figure business marks a significant turnaround.
Before her OnlyFans career, de Matteo was already a familiar face to television audiences. She became best known for playing Adriana La Cerva on The Sopranos, appearing in the HBO crime drama from 1999 to 2004. Her other major television roles include Desperate Housewives and Sons of Anarchy.
For de Matteo, however, the biggest career shift may have happened away from a traditional Hollywood set. OnlyFans has given her control over when she works, what she produces and how she makes money — and judging by her latest comments, she is not finished yet.
