Chloe Fineman Signs Off From SNL After Seven Seasons

After seven seasons inside Studio 8H, Chloe Fineman is calling time on her Saturday Night Live career.

The actress and comedian confirmed her departure on social media, sharing a collection of behind-the-scenes photographs and memorable sketches from her years on the long-running NBC institution. In an emotional farewell, Fineman described joining SNL as “the greatest privilege” of her life, thanking creator Lorne Michaels for taking a chance on her when she first arrived in 2019.

She also offered a glimpse into the pressure behind the live television machine. Fineman joked that every rejected sketch could trigger heated debates, tears and raw emotion, even if, in hindsight, many of those decisions turned out to be the right ones. It was, she said, proof of how fiercely everyone cared about the show and the standard it demands every week.

For Fineman, that intensity is exactly what made Saturday Night Live feel like home. She said the cast and crew became family over the last seven years, but added that the time had come to move on and embrace a new chapter.

Her exit marks the end of one of the current cast’s longest runs. Fineman arrived as a featured player in 2019 before earning repertory status in 2021, going on to appear in more than 400 sketches. Along the way she built a reputation for razor-sharp celebrity impressions, with everyone from Britney Spears and Jennifer Coolidge to Nicole Kidman and Drew Barrymore becoming part of her growing catalogue.

The move may not keep her away from screens for long. According to Deadline, Fineman is now in negotiations to join Netflix’s upcoming drama series Myron Bolitar, starring KJ Apa and Colin Woodell. If the deal is completed, it would mark a notable shift away from sketch comedy and into dramatic television, closing one chapter of her career while opening another.
