Courtney Stodden Slams Dr. Drew Over Resurfaced On-Air Breast Exam From Teen Years

Courtney Stodden has reopened one of the darkest chapters of their rise to tabloid fame, calling out Dr. Drew after a resurfaced television clip showed the then-teenager undergoing an on-air breast ultrasound in front of a live studio audience.

The footage, taken from a 2011 episode of Dr. Drew’s Lifechangers, has gone viral again, reviving questions about how Stodden was treated after marrying actor Doug Hutchison while still a teenager. At just 17 when the episode aired, Stodden was subjected to a televised examination intended to settle public speculation over whether their breasts were natural.

Looking back on the segment in a recent Instagram post, Stodden said the experience was devastating and accused the adults around them of turning a vulnerable teenager into entertainment.

“Dr. Drew had me on his show when I was 16 and had me undergo an ultrasound to see if my breasts were real or if I was lying about my breasts,” Stodden wrote. “I wasn’t an underage girl. I was a minor trapped in a situation that I wasn’t able to get out of legally. I had no rights at the time.”

Stodden also claimed the appearance fee never reached them, alleging it was paid directly to Hutchison instead.

“The money he paid me to be on the show went straight to my abuser. These photos bring up a lot of sadness for me because I see a little girl being exploited by grown men and used for views and mockery.”

They finished the post with a direct challenge to Drew Pinsky, better known as Dr. Drew.

“Dr. Drew, what made you think this was a good idea? As a doctor, did you think this was actually healthy for a little girl to experience? Did you even care?”

The clip has sparked a fresh wave of criticism online, with many pointing to it as another example of the tabloid era’s willingness to sacrifice young women for ratings. Social media users questioned how the segment ever made it to air, describing it as “disturbing,” “wildly inappropriate,” and emblematic of a culture that looked the other way.

The backlash spread across Reddit, where commenters were equally blunt. One of the most upvoted reactions read: “Everyone failed this girl. Every single fucking person.” Another wrote, “God, the look of complete disassociation on this poor child. I hate that every adult in her life failed her, but I’m glad she’s finally telling her truth.”

It’s another uncomfortable reminder of an era when shock television chased headlines at any cost, and the people paying the price were often too young to understand what was really happening.
