Sophie Rain has come a long way from working for minimum wage.
The 23-year-old Miami native is now one of the biggest names on OnlyFans, claims to have made more than £34 million from the platform in a single year, and recently turned up on the New York Swim Week runway in a glittering emerald bikini and feathered backpiece for designer label She Designs.
It is a fairly serious change of circumstances.
Rain has previously said she grew up watching her parents struggle financially, with her family relying on food stamps at one point. Her online career has since given her the means to clear around £11,300 of her parents’ debts, buy them a new car and replace their old refrigerator.

“Now, my parents don’t have to live paycheck-to-paycheck,” she told fans. “That’s all I’ve ever wanted to do.”
Rain’s financial claims have become almost as much a part of her public persona as her modelling. During a recent podcast appearance with internet personality Camilla Araújo, Rain handed over her phone to show a breakdown of her OnlyFans earnings.
Araújo was stunned by what she saw.
“I’m kind of tearing up… $4 million [£3.2 million] in a month?” she said, before pointing out that Rain had already made more than $400,000 in the previous seven days.
Rain has also attracted attention for insisting that, despite making explicit content, she remains a Christian and a virgin, saying she has never had sex and intends to wait until marriage.

“I’m a virgin ’til this day,” she previously said. “I’m a Christian. I know it seems odd… but I don’t do anything else with anyone on my OnlyFans. It’s just me.”
Her earnings have also allowed her to move into bigger business ventures. Alongside fellow creator Aishah Sofey, Rain helped launch The Bop House, a luxury Miami property where a group of OnlyFans creators lived and produced content together. The three-storey house reportedly cost around £60,000 a month to rent.
Rain has since taken her money in a very different direction.
Away from the bikinis, cameras and Miami nightlife, she now spends much of her time on a £2.7 million, 20-acre farm, where she keeps cows, chickens, fish and a pair of baby goats gifted to her by Sofey.
She has even named the goats Kim Kardashian and Kanye West.

For Rain, the muddy boots are apparently the point. She has said that farm life keeps her grounded and helps her deal with the artificial nature of the online world.
“People think that because I’m rich I must want to be travelling the world – but I’d rather be chasing after cows,” she said.
“There’s something really grounding about farm life. It keeps me sane in an industry that can be so fake.”
With 8.9 million followers on Instagram, a multi-million-pound online business and a growing modelling career, Rain hardly needs to chase the conventional version of success.
For now, she says she is more interested in staying close to her family, looking after her animals and waiting for the right person to eventually settle down with.
“I’m happiest in muddy boots and an old T-shirt,” she said.
