Lana Rhoades and Mia Khalifa World Cup Photo Goes Viral – But There’s One Big Problem

The United States men’s national team got their World Cup campaign off to the perfect start with a convincing 4-1 win over Paraguay, but it wasn’t just the football grabbing attention online.

A post circulating on X quickly went viral after claiming former adult stars Lana Rhoades and Mia Khalifa had been spotted together in the stands during the match. The image spread at speed, racking up more than 2.8 million views as fans rushed to weigh in.

The reactions came thick and fast. “USA really made sure everyone was watching the game,” one user joked. Another claimed the fixture had suddenly become “must-watch TV,” while others simply commented on Khalifa’s appearance.

There was just one catch. The photograph wasn’t real.

The now-viral image has since been identified as AI-generated, with X’s own chatbot, Grok, confirming it was digitally created rather than an authentic photograph from the stadium. It appears the picture was designed purely to drive engagement rather than document anything that actually happened.

That revelation left plenty of users disappointed after believing the image was genuine. “This is fake… sad,” one person wrote, while another asked, “C’mon, why is that fake?” A third summed up the mood with a simple: “That’s a shame.”

It’s another reminder that AI-generated images are becoming increasingly difficult to spot at first glance, especially when they’re tied to major sporting events and high-profile internet personalities. In the race for clicks, not everything making the rounds on social media is what it seems.
