Amanda Frances is walking away from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills after just one season, and apparently even Rihanna couldn’t talk her out of it.
The 40-year-old entrepreneur announced Wednesday that she will not return for Season 16, ending her run on the Bravo reality series after a turbulent first season alongside Kyle Richards, Erika Jayne, Dorit Kemsley, Sutton Stracke, Bozoma Saint John and Rachel Zoe.
In a lengthy Instagram post, Frances said her time on the show was “complete” and described signing up as one of the boldest decisions she has ever made.
“Saying yes to this show was one of the boldest, wildest, most clarifying things I’ve ever done,” she wrote. “And I am genuinely grateful.”
Frances quickly became one of the more unpredictable additions to the RHOBH cast, with her manifestation business coming under scrutiny from her co-stars, discussions about her past involvement with a cult and repeated clashes with Kemsley providing plenty of material for the cameras.
But Frances says she has no interest in letting reality television become the centre of her life.
“I am mama-ing my babies. I am creating, teaching, building, and continuing the work I have done for over 15 years: Making sure women that they can have it f–king all,” she wrote.
She also has plenty waiting outside Bravo. Frances is preparing to release her memoir, Holy F–k, on August 18 and is planning a larger wedding celebration with her husband, Eddie Tsivislavsky, after the couple quietly married at a courthouse last September.
They have two children together, Canaan and Delilah, while Frances is also stepmother to Tsivislavsky’s children from a previous marriage, Liam and Shoshana.
Frances said the show gave her an “incredible platform” but argued that a platform is not the same thing as a foundation.
“And one of the greatest gifts of the experience was seeing just how strong my foundation actually is,” she wrote.
There is, however, one person who may not be thrilled by the decision.
Back in May, as rumours circulated that Frances might not return, Rihanna reportedly sent her a direct message urging her to stay.
“No, no, NOPE!!! No quitting!!!!” the singer wrote. “You’re gonna have your redemption I promise you!!! We need more of you!”
Frances was clearly tempted by the endorsement at the time.
“Wait… if Rihanna says I have to do a second season, then do I have to do a second season?” she joked.
Apparently not.
Frances is now taking what she calls the “clarity, the lessons, the plot twists, the spiritual warfare” and the inevitable dinner-party chaos with her into whatever comes next.
“Your next move does not require anyone’s approval,” she wrote. “Your evolution does not need a permission slip.”
Rihanna, presumably, may disagree.
