Mis-Teeq have called time on their reunion just a week after their sold-out Wembley Arena show, but Sabrina Washington is not quite ready to leave the group’s biggest hits behind.
Washington, 47, has confirmed that there are no further Mis-Teeq dates or new music planned following the concert, which marked 25 years since the release of the group’s debut album, Lickin’ on Both Sides.
The Wembley show brought Washington back on stage with Alesha Dixon, 47, and Su-Elise Nash, 45. The trio were also joined by Zena McNally, an original member of the group who made a surprise appearance during the anniversary performance.
For Washington, however, the reunion was only the beginning. She has announced a solo tour for February next year, where she will perform some of the Mis-Teeq tracks she helped record, including Scandalous, All I Want, One Night Stand, Why and B With Me, alongside her solo songs OMG, Make It Hot and Don’t Call Me.
“We have had such a massive year together and I’m really proud of what we achieved,” Washington told The Sun. “We got to come back 25 years later, perform together again and finish with a sold-out Wembley show. It was a really special way to celebrate everything the three of us created together.”
She added: “But there aren’t any further Mis-Teeq dates or new music planned and we’ve all gone back to doing our own things now. For me, though, I wasn’t ready for the celebration to end there.”
Washington’s A One Night Stand Just Ain’t Enough tour is intended to recreate the atmosphere of a 2000s night out, with DJs, dancers, special guests and appearances from figures associated with the UK Garage, pop and R&B scene.
The announcement comes as the former members of Mis-Teeq pursue separate projects. Dixon has recently been confirmed as a new co-host of The Voice UK, while Nash has been linked with a possible appearance on I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!. For Washington, the next chapter will be spent taking Mis-Teeq’s catalogue back on the road — this time under her own name.
