Sarah Michelle Gellar has given fans a rare look at her daughter Charlotte as she celebrated the teenager’s 17th birthday.
The Buffy the Vampire Slayer star, 49, shared a photo of herself posing alongside Charlotte on Instagram over the weekend. The brunette teenager drew plenty of attention in the comments, with fans pointing out her resemblance to her famous father, actor Freddie Prinze Jr.
Gellar marked the occasion with a personal message to her daughter, writing: “Yesterday was my best friend’s birthday @charlotteprinze I’m not sure how you are 17 already.”
“You may have been the child that made me a mom, but now you are the person that brings out the best in me,” she continued. “(Not to mention my biggest champion) Thank you… for being you.”
Charlotte has largely been kept out of the spotlight by her parents, who have maintained a relatively private family life despite both having long careers in Hollywood.
The birthday post prompted an immediate response from fans, with many commenting on the family resemblance.
“She’s the perfect mix of both of you!!” one person wrote, while another added: “She really does look like her parents.”
Gellar and Prinze Jr. have been married since 2002 and have two children together. Charlotte’s 17th birthday offered one of the rarer glimpses of the teenager — and gave fans a chance to see just how much she has grown up away from Hollywood’s glare.
