Lily Phillips is no stranger to attention, but this time she found herself on the wrong side of it.
The adult content creator was publicly waved away after approaching Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden for a selfie while he sat ringside with his long-term partner Rebecca Cooke at Tommy Fury’s boxing clash with Eddie Hall on Saturday night.

Footage of the exchange quickly spread across social media, showing Cooke raising her hand and gesturing for Phillips to keep her distance before the conversation could even begin. Foden remained seated as the brief moment unfolded, with the clip immediately fuelling debate online.
Cooke, who has been with Foden since their teenage years and shares three children with the England international, has built a reputation for staying out of the spotlight despite standing beside one of football’s biggest names. Those close to the couple told British media she had no interest in allowing a photograph of Foden and Phillips to circulate online, particularly after years of dealing with headlines surrounding the footballer’s personal life.

Opinion was split almost instantly. Some praised Cooke for protecting her relationship, while others questioned whether the reaction was necessary. As always, social media picked a side before anyone knew what had actually been said.
Phillips has since given her version of events, insisting she only wanted a photograph. Speaking to LADbible, she claimed Cooke interrupted before she could finish asking and described her as “extremely judgmental.”
“I was just asking for a photo,” Phillips said. “I’m not gonna shag your man. Settle down.”

The 24-year-old has built a lucrative career by turning controversy into content, earning millions through headline-grabbing stunts and a massive online following. More recently, she’s appeared in Stan’s documentary series Turned On: Dirty, Sexy, Money, where cameras followed her as she revisited her Christian faith during a trip to Brisbane.
Speaking about that experience, Phillips said her outlook has changed.
“There was a point when all I cared about was monetary stuff,” she explained. “Faith has helped me become grounded and grateful for what I already have.”
Whether the ringside encounter was a misunderstanding or a calculated attempt to avoid another viral photograph, one thing is certain: in the age of smartphones, even asking for a selfie can become the night’s biggest headline.
