Wendy Sanchez Returns as Colombia’s Most Watched Superfan

Colombia’s travelling football support has never been short on colour, but few figures have cut through the noise quite like Wendy Sanchez.

The Bucaramanga-born creator first went viral during the 2024 Copa America, where she appeared in a bold, braless one-piece outfit paired with a feathered headdress while following the national team. The look was part festival, part football stand, and it quickly pushed her into the centre of online attention around Colombia’s tournament run.

Sanchez’s presence at matches didn’t go unnoticed in the stadiums either. Fans repeatedly stopped her for photos as her images spread across social media, turning a spontaneous match-day outfit into a wider following that has since passed 360,000 on Instagram.

Speaking about the moment that changed things for her, she was clear that it wasn’t pre-planned.

“I had this outfit from a photoshoot,” she said. “I took the risk of wearing it to a national team match. I didn’t think it would attract so much attention.”

The attention, however, stuck. And so did the identity that came with it.

Beyond the viral imagery, Sanchez has also made her football allegiances clear. Asked about the squad, she singled out Colombia star James Rodríguez with a direct message of admiration, calling him “papacito,” a colloquial Spanish term often used flirtatiously to describe someone attractive.

Colombia ultimately fell short in the final against Argentina at the tournament, but Sanchez’s profile outlasted the competition itself. Since then, she has continued to lean into her public image, sharing more revealing fashion-led content across social platforms alongside subscription-based material on OnlyFans.

As the World Cup cycle continues, attention is already drifting back toward the stands as much as the pitch. Sanchez, for now, remains one of the most recognisable faces in Colombia’s fan culture — part supporter, part social media figure, and firmly established in the tournament’s wider spectacle.
