Skylar Mae spends around £6,000 a month maintaining her appearance, but the 23-year-old model insists there is one thing she won’t spend money on: Botox or filler.
With 4.5 million Instagram followers and reported earnings of more than £700,000 a month, Mae has built a lucrative career around her image. But she says keeping her natural look takes serious investment, from premium hair products to an expensive spa membership.
“People 100% underestimate how expensive it is to maintain a natural look,” Mae said. She argues that cosmetic procedures can actually be the cheaper option, with surgery providing a shortcut that doesn’t require the same ongoing spending on treatments and upkeep. “I have to do things for myself every day, every week and every month,” she explained.

Her spa membership alone costs around £740 a month and gives her access to tanning, spray tans, full-body red-light therapy and a water bed designed to loosen muscles. Her hair is another major expense, with Mae saying she spends heavily on shampoo and conditioner to keep her long hair healthy. Pantene, apparently, isn’t making the cut.
Mae believes refusing cosmetic work has also become part of her appeal. She says fans like the fact that she doesn’t look like everyone else online, where she sees the same hairstyles, makeup and exaggerated features repeated across social media.
“I have small lips, I’ll gladly admit it,” she said. Mae has considered lip filler but says compliments about her natural features have convinced her to leave them alone for now. She hasn’t ruled out Botox or other procedures in the future, particularly as she gets older, but for the moment she’s spending her money maintaining what she already has.
The model also says her appearance can lead people to underestimate her intelligence. Alongside her OnlyFans career, Mae studies stocks and day trades, and claims some people are surprised that she knows anything about the financial markets. “I feel like most of these people that do say something figure I’m just a dumb girl since I do OnlyFans,” she said. “You only see maybe 25% of my actual life.” For Mae, the online image is only part of the story — and apparently an expensive one to maintain.
